Flight of the Aeronaut is Vian's third studio album and includes performances by top industry players like Davide Rossi (Goldfrapp, Coldplay, Royskopp), Ben Laver (Composer for the BBC), Emmanuel Echem (LeAnn Rimes, Lauren Daigle, Joss Stone), Camille Faulkner (Julien Baker), and many more.
The recordings were created according to the highest creative, technical, and technological standards. Izak pushed the limits of what he had done before by designing his own vocoder recording method on "Feel My Love", experimenting with shifting time signatures on "Flight of the Aeronaut", and even restoring an old upright piano with felt cloth to record on "Sangre de Cristo."
The album is the perfect blend of emotionally accessible songwriting and unique organic sonic landscapes. Izak focused on capturing heartfelt performances and combined layers of unorthodox sounds with familiar instruments. “Broken” features an arpeggiated analog synth supporting a distorted vocal while “Scars” features a mix of real and sampled drums supporting tribal songs of the Maasai people.
From a songwriting perspective the music dives into themes of love loss and finding purpose. Flight of the Aeronaut was started before the COVID19 pandemic which yielded upbeat songs like "The Furnace" and the dreamy songs like "Orchards.” It was then finished in the midst of the global crisis leading to melancholy introspective tunes like "Sangre de Cristo", “Forward” and "Dreams."
Recorded all over North America, Europe, and Africa, this album will add a fresh international flare to any record collection. Ultimately it’s an album about hope showing that beauty can still be achieved even in the middle of tough times.
